I thought your article was well written and I think ruff is a very good coach, but come on let's get real. Compete for the northeast division???. Only way that could happen is if the Bruins were moved to a different division. But hey, second isn't to bad.
I dont think the sabres compete for division just yet nor do I think the bruins do either (no goalie). Lindy Ruff is a amazing coach but he doesnt play hockey anymore! If the Sabres never had all those injuries in 06 run there is a real good chance they would of won Lord Stanley. Pegula has this city in a hype for the Sabres he has done amazing things and so far Pegula is a man of his word he believes in Lindy and right now thats good enough for me.... End the lockout go sabres!

I'm willing to put up with him for 2 more years . By then all the high priced 3rd liners will be out the door and a new crop will be ready to take over. Pretty much will be a new team top to bottom.

Can you imagine having to coach a team with stars like Drury, Briere and Campbell, and then watching them leave because the GM couldn't/wouldn't put up some money, and then be expected to keep on winning?
And then you start to figure out how to win on a budget, and as soon as your GM has some money to spend he goes and gets VILLE LEINO FOR 4.5?
I don't like Ruff, but I don't think he deserves the blame for Buffalo's track record lately.

I like Lindy, he's done a great job with the team, I would like to see Patrick get more involved though. When Lindy busted his ribs, Patrick really stepped up and kept the team cranking.

Keep Ruff and get rid of Darcy Regier.

That was the previous owner's fault, except for Leino.

Failure is the "norm' with the Sabres and that is why Lindy is still here, as long as excuses can still be made Lindy and Darcy will still have a job. Lindy is a joke and he should have been gone 2 years ago.
I like Ruff, but at the same time I think his constant line juggling/sending out 4th liners in the final minutes of games where we need a goal is frustrating. But we all know as long as Darcy is here so is Ruff.
